TriBeCa: An Overview

TriBeCa –  Taking a walk down the cobblestone streets of TriBeCa it wouldn’t be a surprise if you bumped into Jay-Z on your morning jog or Robert DeNiro as you’re taking your beloved pooch for a walk down Chambers Street. Its name is an acronym for “Triangle Below Canal Street.” TriBeCa extends from the south section of Canal Street between Broadway and West Street and south of Vesey Street. In the mid 1800’s TriBeCa was labeled as Manhattan’s Lower West Side and was one of the first residential neighborhoods in New York.  By the 70’s and 60’s the area transitioned and became industrialized. Most spaces were warehouses, turning TriBeCa into and the home for many New York City artists and musicians.
