Christopher Albanese, Visionary Behind The Visionaire, Talks Manhattan Real Estate and Green Condos With New York Times

There's no shortage of places in which to read about Manhattan real estate online -- although obviously you both already know this and have excellent taste if you're reading the New Construction Manhattan blog. But one of the New Construction Manhattan blog's favorite places to read about Manhattan real estate is the weekly 30-Minute Interview at The New York Times, which offers an opportunity for the biggest developers in NYC real estate to talk shop without, you know, talking too much. This week, the Times catches up with Christopher Albanese, the visionary behind The Visionaire, the much-loved green condo building located in Battery Park City. When Albanese speaks, New Construction Manhattan is definitely going to be listening.

The Visionaire Battery Park CondominiumsIt's no stretch to say that Albanese's real estate development company, The Albanese Organization, has developed some of the most outstanding green residential buildings in New York City. While Albanese is behind a pair of extraordinary green rental buildings in Battery Park City in the Solaire and Verdesian, the LEED Platinum Visionaire looks like the jewel in the Albanese Organization's crown. Given your blogger's admitted soft spot for green condo buildings, The Visionaire is a sentimental favorite of a sort, but the apartments for sale at The Visionaire are also among the most popular condo listings here at New Construction Manhattan, so the favoritism isn't entirely sentiment-driven. Albanese reports that condos are selling briskly at The Visionaire -- this despite the recent weirdness with Battery Park City real estate -- and shows all the insight you'd expect from the man behind some of Manhattan's finest green residential buildings.

So, yes, whenever Albanese speaks, we'll gladly listen in. And when Albanese does the 30-Minute Interview thing -- we linked to the 30-Minute Interview with rising King of Unintentional Comedy Donald Trump Jr. a few posts ago -- we can actually finish reading the interview without falling behind on our other work. Win/win!
