Spring is in the air in Manhattan, so we’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of our favorites places for outdoor dining in Greenwich Village.

#1 Da Andrea

Da Andrea serves traditional cuisine from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Pastas at Da Andrea are made daily on the premises, all of which are cooked perfectly. Locals know to start their meals with le Tigelle -- Baked by Order Flat Buns Served with “Parma” Imported Prosciutto. Though you can’t go wrong with any of the pastas, the Braised Lamb Shank with Mixed Vegetables and Cannellini Beans is a superb Secondi. Complete with a comprehensive wine list and authentic Italian dessert options, it’s no surprise that Da Andrea is one the more popular choices for outdoor dining in Greenwich Village.

#2 La Lanterna di Vittorio

Technically this Italian Cafe’s outdoor patio is indoors, but this faux alfresco setting still earns La Lanterna di Vittorio a spot on our list for outdoor dining in Greenwich Village. A popular date spot, La Lanterna di Vittorio offers a wide variety of pizzas and paninis, but the dessert is really a step above. The cozy garden patio in the back is really completes the romantic setting, making this one of our favorite options.

#3 Caffe Reggio

Caffe Reggio is known as the first coffee house in the country to offer Cappuccino on its menu. In fact, Caffe Reggio still uses an espresso machine that was made in 1902. Come for the coffee, but stay for their sandwiches. The popular New York coffee house has even been featured in several movies, including Godfather II, Serpico, and In Good Company. You can grab your coffee to go, or enjoy Italian pastries, ice cream desserts, or their paninis and sandwiches in a street side setting. Caffe Reggio is a true New York City coffee house, and a great choice for outdoor dining in Greenwich Village.

#4 Vol de Nuit

If you want to get out of the cafe scene and enjoy some good bar food and Belgian beer, then Vol de Nuit is your destination for outdoor dining in Greenwich Village. The extensive list of beers include some of the most popular Belgian brews in the world such as Chimay Blue, Corsendonk Brown Ale, and Delirium Tremens. The outdoor patio is a perfect place to enjoy their fantastic fries, mouthwatering mussels, and Belgian beer.

#5 Bareburger

All organic and all delicious is how things are done at Bareburger. This popular burger joint has several locations scattered throughout the City, and the Greenwich Village location is up there with the best. Bareburger partners with organic farmers and local artisans, resulting in top quality and flavorful food. The burgers at Bareburger are consistently ranked among the best in New York City. Some of the meat choices include beef, turkey, lamb, wild boar, elk, bison and ostrich.
