Luxury Condos Coming to UES Corner
Renderings of the facade by HOK
Three years after plans were filed, there is finally progress being made on a condo that will rise at the corner of 86th and Lexington Avenue. Developers announced they plan to demolish the current two low-rise buildings that occupy the site to make room for the new building.
The lot was purchased by development group Ceruzzi Properties in 2014, who also took a loan of $290 million in order to complete the project. Renderings of the building were first released in 2015 by HOK-design, but plans have changed since. The tower at 151 East 86th Street will now rise 18 stories (as opposed to 20) and hold 61 condos–each averaging 2,485 square feet, with space on the ground floor for retail.

There isn't much news yet on the interior of the units, but the facade of the building reveals a sleek glassy tower giving each home large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light and views of the city. The building is planned to have the typical luxury amenities, such as a fitness center, lounge and playroom, and a rooftop deck.
The building is expected to be complete by 2019.
