It’s only Friday, but the question uppermost on everyone’s minds today is: “Where are we going to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday?” After all, the annual championship game of the National Football League is more than just an exciting sports match—it’s a time to get together with friends and family, have some great food and drink, and, well, just have some fun!! As the Financial District is our Neighborhood of the Month, we have picked up some great Downtown Manhattan spots where you catch all the splendor of Super Bowl XLVII and have a rocking good time:
121 Fulton Street: This FiDi sports bar, which bills itself as the neighborhood’s first gastropub, is a great place for catching all the action of the Super Bowl while enjoying some scrumptious eats. They also have a fine drinks menu that includes some jazzily named cocktails like The Last Stop, Wall Street Spritz and Lamp Post. With 35 television screens in the premises, you can also rest assured that you will not be missing even one moment of the championship game.
Ryan Maguire’s Restaurant & Bar: This Irish establishment is a local favorite, and their craft beers especially have a rather famous reputation, perfect for getting you all buzzed up for the game. Thanks to their Pitcher and Wing specials, one can expect Super Bowl Sunday to be a packed affair here. But that’s all the more reason to come to Ryan Maguire’s for the game: after all, cheering for your team is more fun when you do it with a crowd!
The Iron Horse: This restaurant and bar has promised to turn their television sounds all the way up, so that “you don’t miss any of the commentary (and commercials).” So whether you are there to cheer the Ravens and the 49’ers, or even if it is just to make sure that Beyonce is not lip-syncing again, the Iron Horse has got you covered. Also, they’ve got free burgers and hot dogs with any drink over $3—how’s that for a great deal!
