Highly Anticipated East Village Condo Building Reveals New Renderings
Ten years ago Colonnade Group developers unveiled plans for their site at 75 First Avenue in the East Village. In 2014 HTO Architects revealed a rendering of the eight-story building, but all has been quiet since, until now.
The architects are ditching their gray window box-like design from 2014, for an exterior of huge glassy windows from top to bottom. The building will still stand eight stories tall but will hold 22 condos, rather than the original number of 27. The units will range from one-to three-bedrooms, averaging about 1,100 square feet. The ground floor of the building will hold 1,241 square feet of retail.
The developers are already anticipating a sellout of $42 million–prices for a one bedroom average around $1 million and a three-bedroom will ask for about $3 million.
If this plan stays, they are aiming for completion by the end of 2017.
