Kirkman Lofts
37 Bridge StreetKirkman Lofts at 37 Bridge Street in Brooklyn repurposes the structure of the former Kirkman and Son Soap Company factory, commissioned in 1915. Its industrial history is apparent in the exposed I-beams and soap silos, which inform the shape and space of its residences, with their oak-plank floors and oversized windows adding to the reference. Wood reclaimed from the original factory are also used, continuing the motif. Located in historic DUMBO, the 7-story building enjoys rooftop views of both the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridge, and proximity to the neighborhood's culture through restaurants, retail, and galleries.
