Tribeca, home to one of the world’s largest collections of industrial red-brick loft conversions, galleries, and yes, celebrities, is home to 57 Reade Street, a neo-modern condominium at the heart of this quaint, yet quintessentially Manhattan neighborhood. In many ways, its name, Reade57, is as much of an inverse as the building itself; surrounded by cast iron lofts and Beaux-Arts municipal buildings, 57 Reade Street’s glass-and-steel structure is a welcome, albeit almost radical, architectural addition to this already stunning area. Small shops and restaurants that seem to randomly appear give Tribeca an organic feel lost in modern New York. What is truly surprising, however, is that this seemingly isolated neighborhood is so connected to the rest of the city, whether it be by any number of subway lines or its adjoining position to SoHo and the Financial District.
