Built in 1874, 54 Bond Street, located at the northwest edge of Bond Street, was the former home of the Bouwerie Lane Theater for a long time. Considered one of the most attractive buildings in the Lower East Side, it was designed by Harry Englebert and housed the Atlantic Savings Bank back in 1874, and later the German Exchange bank, and it was not until 1963 that the theater took its place.
This beautiful cast-iron building has two full-floor condominiums and a triplex penthouse complete with a roof terrace as well. How about a homely abode in the skies? Perched high above the hustle and bustle of the Lower East Side, this is penthouse haven. Renovated and designed by Steven Harris, 54 Bond Street is located on a discrete block of Noho.
Some other notable features of this elegant Downtown penthouse includes six spacious bedrooms, an entertaining room, mahogany windows, oak chevron wood floors, custom millwork, electronic shades, Niles AV systems and Cat-5 wiring--these are, of course, just some of the many features that make this property stand-out.
